Bacon Onion Dip

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb bacon
  • 3 cups onions (diced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 cups sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Recipe

  • 1 dice the uncooked bacon up and cook over medium heat until the fat renders out and the bacon gets some color.
  • 2 once the bacon has taken on some color, but is not crisp, pour off all but about 2 -3 tablespoons of the bacon fat.
  • 3 add the onions and the 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt. lower heat to med-low and slowly cook the onions until they have reduced in size and darkened in color.
  • 4 let the onion mix cool and mix the rest of the ingredients together.
  • 5 chill and stir before serving.
