Apple-sausage Cheddar Quiche

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 (9 inch) pastry dough
  • 1 lb ground lamb sausage
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup peeled chopped cooking apple (such as rome beauty)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • paprika

Recipe

  • 1 fit piecrust into a 9 ½-inch deep-dish pieplate.
  • 2 fold ends under, and crimp.
  • 3 prick bottom and sides of piecrust with a fork. bake at 400 for 8 minute.
  • 4 brown sausage in a large skillet, stirring until it crumbles; drain.
  • 5 cool.
  • 6 combine sausage, cheese, and next 5 ingredients; spoon into prepared crust.
  • 7 beat eggs and milk at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended.
  • 8 pour over sausage mixture; sprinkle lightly with paprika.
  • 9 bake at 325 for 50 minutes before serving.
