Aromatic Herbed Bread Filled With Prosciutto

Total Time: 3 hrs 5 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 3 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon fast rising yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 -4 ounces prosciutto, sliced very thin
  • 1/2 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon herbs (i use dried blend of aromatic herbs, onions, garlic)

Recipe

  • 1 place all the bread ingredients except prosciutto in the bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
  • 2 select dough cycle and start machine.
  • 3 at end of cycle take dough out and punch dough down and flatten; roll to a rectangle. place prosciutto over in a single layer then roll up as a jelly roll.
  • 4 score top. place loaves on greased cookie sheet. cover; let rise until double, about 40 hour.
  • 5 preheat oven to 400 degrees f.
  • 6 brush loaf with milk. sprinkle with herbs. bake until a hollow sound when tapped, about 25 minutes; cool on wire racks.
