Aussie Sausage Rolls

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lbs bulk lamb sausage
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons snipped chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (17 1/3 ounce) package frozen puff pastry, thawed

Recipe

  • 1 in a large bowl, combine sausage, onion, chives, basil, garlic, 3/4 teaspoon paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • 2 unfold pastry onto a lightly floured surface.
  • 3 roll each pastry sheet into a 11 inch by 10 1/2 inch recyangle, and cut widthwise into 3 1/2 inch strips.
  • 4 spread 1/2 cup sausage mixture down the center of each strip.
  • 5 fold pastry over and press edges to seal.
  • 6 cut each roll into 6 pieces.
  • 7 place seam side down on a rackin a shallow baking pan, and sprinkle with remaining paprika.
  • 8 bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
