Adobong Pusit Filipino Squid

Total Time: 3 hrs Preparation Time: 2 hrs Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/2 lb squid
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 cup onion
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 bay leaf

Recipe

  • 1 clean squid.
  • 2 chop tomatoes.
  • 3 crush garlic.
  • 4 slice onion.
  • 5 combine water, vinegar, pepper, sugar, salt, bay leaf and half of the garlic.
  • 6 marinate squid in this mixture for 1 hour.
  • 7 drain squid, keeping the marinade.
  • 8 in pan, saute onion, remaining garlic and tomato in the oil.
  • 9 add drained squid.
  • 10 saute until juice evaporates, about 10 minutes.
  • 11 strain marinade.
  • 12 add to squid mixture.
  • 13 simmer 15 minutes.
