Aunt Sharon's Lasagna

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb italian sausage
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 lb canned tomato, chopped
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
  • 10 ounces lasagna noodles
  • 3 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb mozzarella cheese (sliced thin)
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 brown sausage and drain off fat. add next 5 ingredients. simmer uncovered 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 2 cook lasagna noodles until tender. drain and rinse.
  • 3 combine remaining ingredients, except mozzarella.
  • 4 place half of the noodles in a 13x9 pan. spread 1/2 ricotta mixture over noodles. add 1/2 the meat mixture and 1/2 the mozzarella. repeat with a second layer.
  • 5 bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. let stand 10 minutes before serving.
